Obituary: Joanne Fabich
Joanne Carlene Fabich, age 79, of Rhinelander died Friday, April 1, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born March 18, 1937 in Milwaukee to Carlton and Amelia (Hergert) Noebel. Joanne graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee with a BS in Education in 1959. On April 4, 1959 she married Robert Fabich. Joanne was a 3rd grade and gifted teacher in New London and in Rhinelander at Pelican Elementary. She retired from Education in 1994. Jo was an active member of the Rhinelander Women’s Club, volunteered at the Food Pantry and the Squash Lake Association. She was a Euthanistic Minister at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church.
Jo enjoyed time with her family and friends, the outdoors, and painting. She enjoyed retirement at her lake home on Squash Lake. She loved this country and was a proud member of the Republican Party.
Joanne is survived by her son, Michael (Kim) of De Pere and their children; Daniel, Patrick, Joseph, and Sarah; her daughter, Elizabeth (Kurt) Hildebrand of Rhinelander and their children, Andrew, Zachary, and Molly; her daughter, Susan (Mark) of Zionsville, Indiana and their children, Katherine, Madelyn and Samuel; and her son, Robb (Jodi) of Rhinelander and their children, Eric, Lauren and Jared. Jo was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert; her parents; and her brother, Allan.
A Memorial service for Joanne will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Parish – St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Deacon Mike Harvey officiating. Visitation will be held prior to services beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the church.
Donations in Joanne’s name may be made to the Rhinelander Women’s Club.
