Kenneth James Chrobak, age 73, of Rhinelander, died at his home Tuesday, December 8, 2015. Originally from Chicago, Ken has been a resident of Rhinelander for the past twelve years. He is survived by Ginger, his wife of 46 years, and his sons, Ken and Dan. Born in Chicago on April 12, 1942, Ken grew up there until he served in the military during the Vietnam War. After his service, he returned to Chicago, and began a long career in printing ink manufacturing, where he worked his way up to production manager. Ken and Ginger married in 1969, and they raised their children in suburban Chicago. After retirement, Ken and Ginger relocated to Rhinelander where they were active members of multiple charities and local organizations. Generally with a smile on his face, Ken was always willing to stop to chat and share a story with everyone. He will be dearly missed by his family, his friends, and his community. Funeral services for Ken will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 11:30 AM at the Lutheran Church of The Cross-2025 S. Goebert Road/Arlington, Heights. IL. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Freidrichs Funeral Home at 320 W Central Road/Mt. Prospect, IL and just prior to the services at the church on Monday. Interment will be in the Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL. A memorial service for Ken will be held in January 2016 in Rhinelander. A memorial is being established in Ken’s name and can be directed to his family. You may leave your private condolences for the Chrobak family at www.carlsonfh.com. The CarlsonFuneral Home(715-369-1414) is handling the arrangements.
