The Oneida County Forestry, Land and Recreation Department has announced the county snowmobile trail system it administers will open for the season at noon Tuesday, Jan. 26. The trails are in rough early season condition.

All lake trails in the county remain closed and are considered unsafe until they have been clearly marked by a local snowmobile club.

The department recommends riders stay on clearly marked trails and use caution when riding a snowmobile.

For more information on Oneida County trails, contact local snowmobile clubs, chambers of commerce or the department of forestry, land and recreation. A snowmobile map is available on the county website, www.co.oneida.wi.us.
