Most Oneida County trails to open this weekend
STAR JOURNAL REPORT
Oneida County-funded snowmobile trails are opening, with one exception, Saturday, Dec. 29 at 5 p.m. The county Forestry, Land and Recreation Department noted that the Three Lakes Funded Trail Corridor 13 is closed from TIN 122 (Rice Lake Rd) to TIN 022
(intersection north of Burnham Lake) until further notice.
It’s also noted that all lake trails in Oneida County remain closed and are considered unsafe until they have been clearly marked by a local snowmobile club. The Oneida County Forestry, Land and Recreation Department recommends staying on clearly marked trails, and exercising caution when riding. The trails are in “rough, early season condition.”
For more detailed information on Oneida County Snowmobile trail riding opportunities, contact the local snowmobile club in the area that you would like to ride, the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce, or the Oneida County Forestry, Land and Recreation Department.
Oneida County Snowmobile Council President, Jim Wendt can be reached at 715-891-1610 and the chamber at 715-365-7464.
