Esther Mayo (née Bloom), age 101, a lifelong resident of Eagle River, died Friday, Jan.1, 2021, at Rennes Health and Rehab.  She was born Dec. 14, 1919, in Eagle River to Anton and Sinna Bloom.

Ester worked as a registered nurse in Phelps, was the Director of Nursing in Eagle River and worked at Eagle River Health Care.  She enjoyed reading, fishing and gardening.

Ester was preceded in death by her husband, Edward in 2004; brothers, John T., Anton, Rex, Armas, Uno, Hugo, Martin, Andy; sisters, Ina Ohlson, Jenny Carlson, Gertrude Wuollett, Irene Yost.  She is survived by her children, Vicki Layman of Eagle River, Keith Mayo of Rhinelander; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at a later date.
