UPDATED 11:20 a.m.

An armed stand off in Lincoln County this morning ended with the death of one person. According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, deputies assisted the Antigo Police Department in a high speed pursuit after the Antigo officer was reportedly shot at during a traffic stop in Antigo. The incident is believed to have started near the Antigo Hotel.

The chase went into Lincoln County and the suspect vehicle was eventually stopped on Hillview Road in the Township of Pine River with the use of a tire deflation device.  The suspect remained armed during an hour stand off and was eventually shot and killed by law enforcement.  More details on the case will be released at a later time.
