Nicolet College to offer free high school culinary bootcamp

RHINELANDER – Nicolet College invites high school students and current eighth graders who will be entering high school this fall to enroll in the upcoming High School Culinary Bootcamp for two days of culinary exploration this summer at no charge.
The two-day bootcamp will be held on the Nicolet College campus in Rhinelander June 17-18.
This immersive culinary bootcamp is not only educational but promises to be a fun-filled adventure for high school students. Designed to introduce participants to the diverse and rewarding world of culinary arts, the event is open to all, and no prior experience is required.
“Whether students are passionate food enthusiasts or simply curious about exploring career options in the culinary field, this bootcamp offers something for everyone,” Culinary Arts instructor Vicki Mendham said.
The bootcamp will allow students to:
Explore careers in culinary arts: Gain insight into various career paths within the culinary industry, including chef and pastry chef.
Learn safety and sanitation: Acquire essential knowledge and skills in food safety and sanitation practices, ensuring a healthy and hygienic culinary environment.
Master kitchen tools: Discover the functionalities of different kitchen tools and equipment, and learn how to use them effectively to create culinary masterpieces.
Prepare and enjoy delicious lunches: Roll up your sleeves and get hands-on experience in preparing delectable dishes under the guidance of our experienced culinary instructors. Students not only make food, but they also have the opportunity to taste test.
