Time to apply for winter room tax grants

The Rhinelander Tourism and Marketing Committee is accepting applications for the winter disbursement of Room Tax Community Grants. Funding is available for not-for-profit community groups and organizations. Tourism-based projects or events between February and September and encouraged to apply during this cycle.

Proposed projects should be focused on events and/or projects for the Rhinelander and town of Pelican areas and focus on bringing people into the area or on encouraging visitors to stay longer. A number of criteria must be met to qualify for grant consideration. All grant criteria can be found on the application. The RTMC will not fund for-profit organizations. 

Applications can be requested via the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce. For a copy of the application, email [email protected] or call 715-365-7464. Applications must be turned into the Chamber by 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17. Electronic or paper applications will be accepted. RTMC board will review all applications during the December committee meeting.

Annual award nominees sought

Nominations are open for the chamber’s annual awards. Each year the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce celebrates area businesses and individuals for their impact on the Rhinelander Community at the annual Awards Gala and Fundraiser.

“The purpose of these awards is to identify, honor and reinforce the contributions that are positively impacting the Rhinelander Area.” said Lauren Sackett, RACC CEO. “There is so much to celebrate about the Rhinelander community, which is why each year we honor area businesses and individuals in eight award categories and host the Top 10 Under 40 Awards.”

The Annual Awards categories include Small Business Excellence, Business Excellence, Community Service, Community Enhancement, Company Culture Excellence, Entrepreneurial Achievement, Community Volunteer of the Year and the Spirit of the Hodag Award.

Nominations are also being accepted for the Top 10 Under 40 Awards. Each year, 10 young adults are honored and recognized for making a difference where we live.

Businesses and individuals may be nominated after reviewing the details on each category’s eligibility and criteria at rhinelanderchamber.com/AnnualAwardsGala.  

Nominations will be accepted through Nov. 22. A judges’ panel will review all nominations. Winners will be announced at the Awards Gala and Fundraiser on Jan. 25, 2024. Visit the website of find the chamber on social media for more information.
