Man arrested in Crandon sentenced to federal prison

A Milwaukee man arrested at a Crandon hotel last spring with two pounds of cocaine, a loaded firearm and marijuana was sentenced to 14 years in the federal prison system.
Lagene C. McGhee, 49, was sentenced today in U.S. Federal Court for possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense and felon in possession of a firearm. He will serve eight years in prison followed by six years of federal supervision. The $4,594 in cash that McGhee had with him when arrested will be forfeited to law enforcement.
McGhee was arrested April 1, 2021, by members of the Forest County Drug Task Force.
