Firefighters, first responders, members of the community and military – and even a couple of rescue dogs joined together Saturday, Sept. 11, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attack in New York City and Washington D.C.
The silent parade began at Anderson Street and Brown Street to Davenport, then east to the Oneida County Courthouse. Led by fire department and EMS vehicles, the procession was followed by marchers, some wearing uniforms, others wearing gear. Onlookers were invited to follow along to the courthouse where a brief ceremony, which included an air ambulance flyover, took place.
