Hodag football upped their record to 4-0 after walloping the Hayward Hurricanes 41-0 at Mike Webster Stadium Friday night.
One of the key factors for the team was not looking ahead to the Sept. 17 game at Medford. The Hodags suffered the only loss of the season at the hands of the Red Raiders.
The Hodags first possession went according to plan as they scored a touchdown to make the score 7-0, and followed up with two more in each of the first two quarters to take a 28-0 lead at the half.
The Hodags scored 2 touchdowns in each of the first two quarters to take a 28-0 lead at the half. With 7:09 left in the third quarter the Hodags made it 35-0, which enacted a running clock for the remainder of the game. One more touchdown in the third was the final score.
Offensively Cayden Neri rushed for 289 yards and three touchdowns, Caleb Olcikas rushed for 104 yards, scoring one rushing touchdown and one on a reception on a pass from Jacksen Smith who also threw a touchdown pass to Brock Snyder.
On the defensive side the Beske twins, Arik and Jaden each had an interception and Carter Krueger forced a fumble on a sack late in the game. The defense held the Hurricanes to 70 total yards. PHOTOS BY BOB MAINHARDT
