$90K worth of drugs seized in Crandon

A Milwaukee man is in Forest County custody awaiting a Federal indictment on drug charges. Lagene McGhee, 48, was arrested Thursday, April 1, after Crandon Police and the Forest County Drug Task Force went to a Crandon hotel to investigate a complaint of a strong odor of marijuana.
After receiving a search warrant for McGhee’s hotel room, the police, task force and FBI found approximately two pounds of both crack and powder cocaine, an ounce of THC products, a digital scale, more than $4,000 in cash, a loaded firearm and drug paraphernalia.
Authorities estimate the street value of the seized drugs is approximately $90,000.
Forest County Sheriff’s Office said the case has been accepted by the assistant U.S. Attorney; McGhee will be held in custody pending a federal indictment in the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
