Three arrested in Vilas County for armed robbery

Three Eagle River area residents have been arrested and face charges including armed robbery and battery. The Vilas County Sheriff’s Deputies say Miles Krohn, 27, Devon Brown, 24 and Autumn Williams, 24 are suspected of injuring and robbing a 79-year-old Phelps man in his driveway as he returned from a nearby casino.
According to a press release, a 911 call was received by Vilas County dispatch Wednesday, Nov. 18. An elderly man was reportedly met in his driveway by two men wearing masks who demanded money. Before the victim could hand over any money, one of the individuals is believed to have struck the man in the face with a hammer. Money was taken and the suspects reportedly fled the scene.
With 48 hours the suspects were in custody. Evidence, including DNA, was sent to the Wisconsin Crime Lab for analysis.
In addition to the Sheriff’s Office, Eagle River Police, Watersmeet Police and Lac Vieux Desert Tribal Police assisted in the case. The suspects are awaiting their court appearances.
