Star Journal Report

Patrons interested in helping the Pioneer Park Historical Complex (PPHC) honor and preserve the unique history of the Northwoods can now contribute to a newly created fund.

The Pioneer Park Historical Complex Fund was established within the Rhinelander Community Foundation (RCF) to allow donors to financially assist the PPHC with special projects. Charitable donations to the PPHC Fund will be used to make grants available for high-priority projects at the complex. An advisory committee will make recommendations unless otherwise designated to specific museums within the complex.

The complex houses the Logging Museum, Red’s Antique Sawmill Museum, a Rural Schoolhouse Museum, Duke’s Outboard Motor and Boating Museum, Rhinelander Fire Apparatus Museum, Civilian Conservation Corps Museum, Rhinelander Railroad Museum. A Pioneer Log Cabin Museum has been proposed.

To get things started, Rhinelander native George Juetten and his wife Sondra will match the first $25,000 in donations to the PPHC Fund.

To make a tax-deductible donation to the PPHC Fund, checks should be made payable to Rhinelander Community Foundation, with PPHC Fund in the memo line. Mail to Rhinelander Community Foundation, PO Box 1523, Rhinelander WI 54501.
