Although they aren’t leaving until March of 2020, teachers at Rhinelander High School are busy recruiting and making plans for an upcoming trip to France.

School board approval has paved the way for RHS social studies teacher and group leader Linda Goldsworthy to create an itinerary that will focus on “experiencing the unique culture of that country.”
Goldsworthy is holding an informational meeting at 6 p.m. Sept. 17 and Sept. 19 in room 246 at Rhinelander High School for parents and students.

Interested participants will receive information about the trip, qualifications, costs and fundraising.
American Council for International Studies, or ACIS, is the company Goldsworthy is working with, having planned four previous trips abroad for students.

“Highlights of this tour will include an evening of French Theater, visiting and biking the grounds of Versailles, exploring chateaus at Chenonceau and Chambord, and driving to the Normandy coast for visits to Mont St. Michel as well as the D-Day beaches and American cemetery. We will return to Paris the last two days and explore the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre and the Latin Quarter,” said Goldsworthy.

To make the trip affordable, there will be many fundraising opportunities for the students.
Interested families who are unable to attend the September 17 or 19 meeting are encouraged to contact Goldsworthy at 715-365-9500 x8246 or at [email protected] for more information.
