Local law enforcement and firefighters were honored Friday by Peoples Bank on Lincoln Street. The bank sponsored a brat fundraiser for the agencies.

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

Community members stopped by Peoples State Bank on Lincoln Street last Friday to show their support for local law enforcement and firefighters. The appreciation cookout featured some of the vehicles used by these everyday heroes.

“The staff and team are passionate about giving back to the community,” said Peoples marketing manager Janel Thoune. “(Law enforcement and firefighters) do so much for the community.”

Thoune said company wide, employees have volunteered more than 8,000 hours to their communities this year, which “shows they want to be part of an environment that is supportive of their local community and gives them an opportunity to volunteer, and they like that.”

Money raised will be split between the agencies.
