‘Bank of the future’ celebrates opening
STAR JOURNAL REPORT
Nicolet Bank showed off the “bank of the future” with an open house and lunch Friday. Bank dignitaries, employees and community members mingled inside the building and outside under a pair of large tents. The old building was demolished last winter and replaced with one that is “big, open, and better able to serve our customers,” said branch manager Amy Vanney. One of the “future” aspects of Nicolet is that instead of a row of tellers, the new bank features teller pods.
“They allow more accessibility to the tellers and a little more privacy,” Vanney said. “When you are standing in the teller line, you can see everybody and you can hear everybody. Now if there is a big commercial deposit, they can go one way and everyone doesn’t line up behind them.”
The square footage is about the same as the old bank, without the rental space.
Items from the old building, counter tops, desks, tables and chairs were donated to local non-profits.
