HIGH SCHOOL GYMNASTICS: Hodags 5th at Rapids Invite

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

The Rhinelander High School gymnastics team competed Saturday at the Wisconsin Rapids Invitational and placed fifth out of the eight teams.

Mukwonago topped the team standings with 134.45 points, followed by Ashland (132.25), Marshfield (129), Oshkosh (128.9), RHS (119.25), Rapids (111.725), Chippewa Falls (101.25) and Kaukauna (94.725).

The Hodags had at least one top-20 finish in each individual event. Junior Raven Sturtevant placed 10th on the balance beam (7.775), 15th on the uneven bars (7.45) and 19th in the floor exercise (8.475). Senior Stephanie Kuester tied for 13th in vaulting (8.3) and finished 16th on the balance beam (7.425). Senior Alyssa Mitchell placed 13th on the balance beam (7.525).

In the all-around competition, Sturtevant placed 13th at 31.75 and Kuester ended up 16th at 30.3.

RHS’s next meet is Jan. 18 at Antigo.
