Sen. Tiffany to hold public hearing on mining bill

District 12 State Senator Tom Tiffany (R-Hazelhurst) will hold a public hearing Sept. 7 in Lady Smith on the Mining for America Act (SB 395) he introduced recently with Rep. Rob Hutton (R-Brookfield).
The public hearing will be held at 9 a.m. at Ladysmith High School auditorum.
The Mining for America Act would get rid of the nearly 20-year ban the legislature placed on the mining industry.
A press release stated, “Wisconsin has comprehensive mining laws in place and the moratorium prevents those laws from being used.”
