BOYS SOCCER: Hodags drop season opener at Ashland, 1-0
STAR JOURNAL REPORT
Goals were hard to come by Tuesday when the Rhinelander High School varsity boys soccer team lost its season opener at Ashland, 1-0.
“Our first game out showed us what we need to improve on and it gave the coaching staff an opportunity to see where players fit,” said Hodags head coach Dan Millot.
Ashland, which had a 13-9 advantage in shots on goal, tallied the game’s only goal early in the second half.
Following the invitational RHS hosts Friday and Saturday at the Hanson Lake Soccer Complex, the Hodags host Antigo next Tuesday night at Mike Webster Stadium.
