GIRLS SWIMMING: Hodags 4th at Panther Relays

The Rhinelander High School girls swimming team participated in its second meet of the season Friday when the Hodags placed fourth out of six teams in the Panther Relays at Stevens Point Area Senior High.

Out of the 10 relay events, the Hodags’ best showing was a first-place finish in the 500-yard crescendo relay (5 minutes, 13.53 seconds) with Carly Seidl in the 50 freestyle, Marisa McGuire in the 100 freestyle, Lisa Kennedy in the 150 freestyle and Makenna Winnicki swimming the 200 freestyle.

RHS also recorded a runner-up finish with Maddie Quinn, Kennedy, Grace Heck and Rachel Uhlarik in the 4×100 backstroke relay (4:31.79). The Hodags added two third-place finishes with Seidl, Jenna Hawley, Taylor Macak and Heck in the 200 freestyle relay (1:51.95) and Winnicki, Kennedy, McGuire and Heck in the 4×100 individual medley relay (4:40.43).

The Hodags had a triangular meet against Wausau West and Lakeland Union High School scheduled for Monday at John Muir Middle School in Wausau.
