OBITUARY: Elizabeth Grace Drivas

Elizabeth Grace Drivas, age 91, of Rhinelander, died peacefully with her family at her side, Aug. 23, 2016 at Milestone Senior Living. She was born July 31, 1925 in Rhinelander to Albert and Grace (Buskirk) Brown.
Betty attended schools in Rhinelander graduating from the Rhinelander High School in 1943. In the fall of that year she moved to Seattle, Wash. and went to work for Boeing Aircraft as a riveter. After one year she moved to Minneapolis where she worked on aircraft for the war effort. She returned to Rhinelander and married George Drivas Feb. 19, 1947. He preceded her in death March 18, 1994 after 47 years of marriage. In Rhinelander, Betty was employed by Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company as a long distance operator for 24 years.
Betty was a longtime member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and music. She also enjoyed babysitting for quite a number of children over the years. Her favorite times were those spent with her own grand and great-grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her daughters Dianne (Duane) Kongslien and Pamela (Kurt) Dotter and son Denny (Lynn) Drivas, all of Rhinelander. Her grandchildren, Dana Griffith, Tracy Congleton, Kara Belmas, Stephanie Laumann, Aaron Drivas and Sara Peplinski; her great-grandchildren, Alek, Maya, Liam, Megan, Michael, Sophia, Brady, Brecklyn, Cooper and Wyatt; her brother, Donald Brown; other family and many friends. In addition to her husband, Betty was also preceded in death by an infant son, David Allen; her sister, Mary and brothers, Oliver, Gaylord and Clifford.
Funeral services for Betty will be held Monday, Aug. 29 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Reverend Kari Vadis officiating. Visitation will be from 9 – 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Forest Home Cemetery.
