Rhinelander Swim Club members improve

RSC competed at Lakeland recently as they begin the count down to the end of their regular conference season. “It was a fun meet. The RSC swimmers did a great job racing, many getting personal best times, reaching goal times and qualifying for the Midwest Regional swim meet and Wisconsin State swim meet,” said coach Jenny Heck.
Jack Antonuk, 11, and Abi Winnicki ,9, each achieved more state time cuts during the meet. Antonuk made the cut in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:22.25. Winnicki, 9, dropped 36.04 seconds off her personal best time in the 500 Free earning her another cut, with a new time of 6:50.32. Winnicki also broke 2 club records at the meet with her time in the 500 free and setting a new record in the 200 free with a time of 2:28.59.
Leading the team in place finishes this week were Jack Antonuk and Joseph Heck, 13, each with three firsts this meet. Antonuk in the 100 IM, 50 Fly and 50 Breast. Heck in the 200 Breast, 200 IM and the 100 Free. James Heck, 10, had two first place ribbons in the 100 IM and 100 Fly. Finishing with one first placement was Charlie Heck,10, 50 Free, Grace Heck, 15, 50Free, Zachariah King, 9, 200 IM, David King,13, 400 IM, Madelyn Mathwig, 10, 50 Breast, Ella Schiek, 12, 50 Breast, Samson Shinners, 8, 100 IM and Makenna Winnicki, 13 in the 400 IM.
Other swimmers in the top three this meet were: Carter Gaber, 11, Daniel Gillingham, 11, Ella Heck, 6, Eva Heck, Maria Heck, Thaddeus Heck, 13, Taylor Hollands, 14, Lisa Kennedy, 12, Cooper Lindman, 13, Taylor Macak, 15, Marisa McGuire, 14, Maddie Quinn, 14, Annalyse Schoppe, 10, Sam Schoppe, 9, Abi Winnicki.

Girls 8&under 100 Medley: Eva Heck, Ella Heck, Kadyn Taylor, Emma Houg, 2:17.21
Boys 14&under 200 Medley: Devon Gaber, Cooper Lindman, David King, Trevor Marvin: 2:27.22
