The Warehouse Four Season Center for the Arts in Eagle River is offering two special Saturday workshops during the month of January.

On Saturday, Jan. 16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., artist Lisa Krueger will teach “Introduction to Watercolor: Beautiful Berries.” The class will give participants the skills to begin to play with watercolors on their own. The cost for the class is $55. For people who want to purchase their own supplies or already do watercolor painting, a supply list is on the website. Use of supplies provided by the Warehouse is possible for an additional $5 fee.

Lisa Krueger is a watercolor, mixed media and pastel artist. Her Oak View Studio is featured on the Northwoods Art Tour. She is on the board of directors of the Lakeland Art League. Krueger has studied with professional artists in the Northwoods including at Dillman’s and continues to study and learn new techniques. She exhibits her work at Diane’s Frame Shoppe in Rhinelander, Artist Palette in Manitowish Waters, River Woods Gallery in Eagle River and at Moondeer and Friends Gallery in Boulder Junction, as well as in group exhibits throughout northern Wisconsin.

On Saturday, Jan. 23, from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., “Discover Needle Felting” will be taught by Joan Molloy Slack. Joan will introduce participants to the world of needle felting through the creation of small containers and ornaments. By the end of the class, participants will also create a beautiful 8 x 10-inch felted landscape. The class fee is $45 with a $14 materials fee.

“Learning needle felting is very uncomplicated, and successful projects are easily completed. No experience is necessary. All materials are provided, but bring fleece or other needle felting tools if you have them and would like to use them,” Slack said.

Slack is a clay, fiber and textile artist, whose River Run Arts studio, gallery and art education center is located in McNaughton. Slack learned to felt in Ireland and has taught felting for 14 years. In addition to teaching and exhibiting her work locally and nationally, she offers travel and workshop tours.

The Warehouse is located at 107 S Railroad Street in downtown Eagle River. To pre-register (required), or for more information about either of these workshops, phone 715.479-4060 or visit www.eagleriverart.com to register online.
