Felony charges expected in Lincoln County burglaries; Wausau man is the suspect

By Star Journal Staff
A Wausau man is expected to be charged in Lincoln County court in connect with numerous property crimes.
During the first week of May property owners in the towns of Corning, Rock Falls and Scott reported break-ins at cabins in outbuildings. Lincoln County detectives received information that one of the guns stolen in the burglaries was pawned at a store in Wausau. Detectives conducted several interviews before discovering the 29-year old suspect was responsible for these property crimes as well as five burglaries that occurred in Marathon County. Over $6,000 in stolen property was recovered.
The suspect has been referred to the Lincoln County District Attorney on 13 felony counts of burglary. No formal court date has been set; the suspect remains jailed in Marathon County on a high cash bond after leading authorities there on a high speed chase earlier this month.
