The Oneida-Vilas-Forest County Bar Association has announced it will award a scholarship this fall to an individual pursuing an education in law, according to Tom Lawrence of Minocqua, Chairman of the Association’s scholarship committee.

“We have had outstanding candidates for this scholarship in the past years and expect to see a number of highly qualified applicants again this year,” Lawrence said. “It gives us great pleasure as an Association to help a young person from our area gain entry to our profession.”

The scholarship will be awarded on a combination of past and potential academic performance, financial need, course of study and residence in or significant connections to Oneida, Vilas or Forest Counties. Persons interested should apply for the scholarship by sending a letter and resume to Lawrence and Tyler, S.C., 8617 Hwy. 51 North, Minocqua, WI 54548. Questions about the scholarship may be directed to Lawrence or to the other scholarship committee members, Jeff Jackomino of Rhinelander, Bill Doerr of Eagle River or John Danner of Minocqua.

Applications must be received by Monday, Nov. 11, 2013. The scholarship is scheduled to be awarded at the Association’s Nov. 20, 2013 meeting.
