Obituary: Earl A. Garberson

Earl A. Garberson, 74, of Rhinelander died Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Taylor Park Nursing Home. He was born Feb. 25, 1939, to Armin and Liami (Lehtomaki) Garberson in Marquette, Mich. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Rodney (Mandy) of Coon Rapids, Minn., and Becky (Marty) DeVora of Andover, Minn.; a brother, Ron (Nancy) of Dunsmuir, Calif.; a sister, Darlene (Emil) Slatick of Pasco, Wash.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Garberson worked at Rhinelander Elementary school as an art teacher from 1968 until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed fishing, painting pictures, sketching and spending time with his family. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home with Pastor Rebecca Niese officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, June 27, at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. A memorial has been established in Mr. Garberson’s name and may be directed to the family. (Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home)
