William O. Jones
William O. Jones, 90, of Rhinelander, died March 8, 2012. He was born Oct. 18, 1921, in Milwaukee, to Lloyd and Isabell Jones.
Bill was a very proud Air Force veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict, and an active member of the VWF and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Ann; his six children, Patricia (Greg) Kobs, Robert, Thomas (Mary Ann), Daniel, Peter (Leigh) and Margaret (Scott) Tomczyk; 13 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded by a son, Michael; his parents; a sister, Harriet; and a brother, John.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 4, at 1:30 p.m., at Nativity of Our Lord Parish – St. Joseph’s site. A reception is planned immediately following the ceremony at the VFW Clubhouse in Rhinelander. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers or plants, a donation in Bill’s memory be made to the VFW Post #3143 to enhance their many charitable programs.
