Walter E. Jacques

Walter E. Jacques, 85, of Rhinelander, died April 18, 2012, in Rhinelander. He was born on March 4, 1927, in Milwaukee, to George and Cecelia (Feest) Jacques.

Walter served with the U.S. Air Force and the Merchant Marines, being honorably discharged in 1952. He married the former Loraine Belter on February 19, 1955, in Milwaukee and she preceded him in death on Nov. 25, 2011. They moved to Rhinelander in 1967, and have lived here since. Walter was employed by the Rhinelander Paper Company and after his retirement, he enjoyed many activities. Wintering in Florida, watching the Packers, Brewers, and old movies, fishing, and playing bingo occupied his time. Walter was also a member of the VFW Ray Rousseau Post #3143 in Rhinelander.

He is survived by his three daughters, Debbie (Mike) Shattuck, Sharon (Joe) Reidinger, and Linda Jacques all of Rhinelander; his two sons, George (Charmaine) Jacques of Sugar Camp and James (Malinda) Jacques of Jefferson City, TN; 10 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Russell.

There will be no funeral services at this time.
