Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital and Ministry Medical Group will be hosting its sixth annual Health and Wellness Fair Saturday, April 21, from 8 a.m. to noon at Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital, 2251 North Shore Drive in Rhinelander. More than 75 health care professionals and community partners will be available with health and wellness information.

With the success and turnout of the past five years, Ministry is excited for this year’s health fair and the addition of new educational sessions. Last year’s fair brought in more than 600 community members.

“We really look forward to this event because it gives us an opportunity to interact with the community and provide free health services,” said Patty Fitzpatrick, Foundation and Volunteer Services at Ministry Saint Mary’s.
The following free health screenings will be available at the health fair and are funded by the Saint Mary’s Hospital Foundation: cholesterol screen, diabetes screen, PSA prostate screen, blood pressure check, breast health exam, balance screen, hearing screen, throat screen, body index screen and pulse oximitry screen.
There is no need to fast for the cholesterol or diabetes screens. Cholesterol patients must be 18 years of age and older. PSA prostate screens are for men 50+ or 40+ with a family history of prostate cancer. Results from the cholesterol panel and PSA test will be mailed to participants. Appointments are not necessary and the FREE screenings are available on a first come first serve basis.
This year there are a couple new educational sessions for people to participate in. One is a CPR demonstration that is being provided by Ministry Health Care and Marshfield Clinic’s Heart Care Team. The demonstrations will run the entire time of the health fair and a FREE CPR kit will be given to each family (while supplies last) that stops by the table to watch the demonstrations. Ministry Koller Behavioral Health will be offering two 30 minute relaxation and calming workshops to educate on relaxation techniques.
Other features to check out are the two power of attorney for health care sessions located in the pediatric waiting room of the main hall at 8:30 and 9:30 a.m.; Community Blood Center blood drive located in the library of the hospital; the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry will be collecting donations; the Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital Volunteer Gift Shop will be holding their Spring sale with 20 percent off purchases; and register to win fabulous prizes. The event is sponsored by Saint Mary’s Hospital Foundation, Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital and Ministry Medical Group.
