Lorraine B. Bernsteen

Lorraine B. Bernsteen, 91, of Rhinelander, died on March 12, 2012, at her home in Rhinelander. Lorraine was born on Sept. 1, 1920, in the Town of Pelican, to William and Louise Priebe.

She went to schools in Rhinelander, graduating from the Rhinelander High School in 1938. She then attended Oneida County Normal for two years. Lorraine went on to a number of different jobs in a number of different places. She taught school for two years. She was employed as a secretary for the Dept of Defense in Alaska and also held jobs in Miami, Fla. and Augusta, Ga. She married Hilding “Chick” Bernsteen on February 2, 1946.

Lorraine is survived by her sister Cecelia Priebe of Rhinelander and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters Louise Hansen, Anna Schultz, Minnie Wickstrom and Marguerite Zoschenko and her brothers William, Chris, Gust, Herman and infant brother Frank.

Graveside services will be held later this spring at the Forest Home Cemetery.
