‘Suite Surrender’ runs through March 18

The School District of Rhinelander drama department is presenting the comedy “Suite Surrender”, by playwright Michael McKeever, this Friday through Sunday, March 16-18, in the Rhinelander High School Auditiorium.

It’s 1942, and the luxurious Palm Beach Royale Hotel is under siege as two of Hollywood’s biggest divas vie for the same suite. Mistaken identities, overblown egos, double entendres, and one pampered little lap dog round out this fall-down-laughing riot of a comedy. It’s an all-out love note to those wonderful farces of the ’30s and ’40s.

The cast features Sara Kramer and Mimmie Sjoberg as the divas, Claudia McFadden and Athena Sinclair. Other cast members are Ryan Lieck as Barnard S. Dunlap, Marilla McKay as Dora Del Rio, Kiah Sexton as Murphy Stevens, Andrew Kroll as Mr. Pippet, Aaron Bowen as Otis, Christine Blakeslee as Mrs. Everett P. Osgood and Bryan Konicek as Francis.

During intermission, audience members will have the opportunity to support the Drama Department through a bake sale and 50/50 raffle.

Performances of “Suite Surrender” are set for Friday, March 16 through Saturday, March 17 at 7 p.m., with a Sunday matinee March 18 at 1 p.m., all at the newly remodeled Rhinelander High School Auditiorium. Tickets are $5, and will be available at the door.
