Darlene L. Larson

Darlene L. Larson, 64 of Rhinelander, passed away on Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at her home. She was born on Oct.15, 1947, in Minnesota, to Simon and Ann Rapaport.

Darlene moved to Rhinelander as a child and graduated from Rhinelander High School. She attended the UW-Superior. Darlene joined the City of Rhinelander Parks Department as director in 1969 and later was responsible for Recreation and Building and Grounds until her retirement in 2001. She initiated Little Hodags and Hodags on the Go recreation programs. Darlene enjoyed many outdoor activities including camping at her site on the Three Lakes Chain, pontoon rides, fishing, and trips to Door County.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Allan Larson of Rhinelander and her “special son” Paul Josheff. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.

Per Darlene’s request, there will be no funeral service.
