School District of Rhinelander principal resigns
STAR JOURNAL REPORT
A special meeting of the School District of Rhinelander Board of Education was held Monday night, which included a closed session. Tuesday morning Superintendent Kelli Jacobi announced via press release, that the board accepted the resignation of Crescent Elementary School principal Kelly Huseby.
The school board released a statement saying, “last month Kelly Huseby, who was the Crescent principal, requested and was granted a leave of absence for personal reasons. At its meeting last night the school board accepted Kelly Huseby’s resignation, effective immediately.”
In her letter of resignation, dated Monday, Oct. 10, Huseby stated, “this decision comes after a great deal of thought and prayer, and is one that I did not easily make. I am so grateful to have been able to serve the students, staff and families of the school district and will so greatly miss Crescent Elementary School.”
School District Superintendent, Kelli Jacobi, said the board will be posting the principal position, looking for “a highly qualified, perfect candidate.” But with the school year underway, that may be difficult.
Kari Volk, a speech and language teacher in the district who also has administrator qualifications has been interim principal at Crescent.
Jacobi said she has no further comment.
