Boys tennis results from April 25
The final score in the match against Antigo High School was Antigo 4, Rhinelander 3. “We were on the edge of the cliff,” Coach Heideman noted. “The score was 1-4 and there were two close matches left. If we had lost those two matches, with the abbreviated format, Antigo would have had a commanding lead. But three doubles and four singles hung tough and both pulled out 3rd set tie breakers.”
Rhinelander’s Kyle Thornton played a three-hour match. “The score didn’t seem to bother him,” Heideman commented. “There was some pressure there with all other matches finished and everyone watching.
“Will and Cody had some ups and downs but stayed positive and wore the other team down,” he added. “They survived 3 match points!”
