Flu, COVID vaccines available at Oneida County Health Department

For the Star Journal

Starting Monday, Oct. 9, the Oneida County Health Department will be offering updated Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and the flu vaccine at the health department, 100 W. Keenan St., Rhinelander. No appointment is needed at the OCHD; vaccines will be available in October and November, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

OCHD accepts several types of insurance; private pay via cash, credit and check also available.

Both vaccines will also be available at select community clinics. See the location, dates and times for community clinics below.

Flu vaccines:

• Fluzone quadravalent influenza vaccine, for ages six months and older

• Fluzone high-doze influenza vaccine, available for ages 65 and older

COVID-19 vaccines:

• Moderna, available for ages 12 and older

The CDC recommends everyone ages six months and older get an updated COVID-19 vaccine to protect against the potentially severe symptoms of COVID-19 this fall and winter.
