Take a virtual shipwreck adventure
Author and shipwreck hunter Ross Richardson will give a presentation June 22 hosted by the Rhinelander District Library.
RHINELANDER – The Rhinelander District Library is hosting a virtual presentation of “Manitou Mysteries Shipwreck Adventure” by Ross Richardson Wednesday, June 22 at 6 p.m. In this presentation, journey to the waters off the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Northern Michigan and join author and shipwreck hunter Ross Richardson in exploring the histories and mysteries of the Manitou Passage, one of the deadliest areas on the Great lakes. An undiscovered fleet of shipwrecked ghost-ships lies off that rugged coast, just waiting to be found. Learn their stories and explore a newly discovered mystery schooner thought to be one of the most intact shipwrecks on the planet.
Richardson is the author of two books, “The Search for the Westmoreland Shipwreck” and “Still Missing,” and is a Great Lakes shipwreck hunter and maritime historian. From Michigan, Richardson has been involved in searching for and discovering dozens of shipwrecks and missing aircraft in the Great Lakes region.
This program is free to the public, but tickets are required as seating is limited. Tickets are available at the main circulation desk of the Library.
