This is followed Wednesday, June 16, with Tom Pease providing two fun-filled musical shows on the lawn. In case of inclement weather shows will be at the Dome. Free tickets are available now. There are also book clubs starting June 22 for third and fourth, and fifth and sixth grades, registration required. A virtual book challenge is available for kids who want to participate. Teens ages 12-18, have a Summer Reading Challenge starting June 7, made up of 25 smaller challenges. For every completed challenge, they may draw for a small prize. For every five challenges completed, they are entered into a grand prize drawing to take place at the end of summer. See RDL’s YA librarian for more details. Challenge ends August 27.
Adult SRP begins June 15 and runs through July 30. There will be make & take crafts, Crafternoons, and tale- (or tail- ) related programs. This year’s reading challenge requires a bingo card, available at the main check out. Entries for the prize drawings occur when you pick up a card, complete a bingo of reading, or a blackout of reading on the bingo card. A homemade tumbling towers contest with you choosing the winner is scheduled. There is also a Cutest Pet Photo Contest, sponsored by Northwoods Pets.
