RHINELANDER – A $10,000 gift from the GFWC Rhinelander Woman’s Club to the Building for the Future Capital Campaign has pushed the YMCA of the Northwoods closer to its $2 million goal.

“GFWC Rhinelander Woman’s Club has a mission similar to the YMCA, that is, we want to make a difference in the community. Members realize the need for daycare and more youth activities in our local area,” said Cindy Goll, GFWC Rhinelander Woman’s Club president. “Our club was impressed by the thorough and detailed plans that the YMCA presented at the onset of the capital campaign, and we hope that other organizations will add support as well.”
The Building for the Future Capital Campaign began in early 2018 when the YMCA of the Northwoods conducted a strategic planning process and launched a community needs assessment.

“It was important to the Y that we sat back and listened to our community,” said YMCA CEO Ryan Zietlow. “Our focus and vision was to learn how to best serve, while being good stewards of the resources our community can provide. Critical to this is how the Y can build a sustainable and impactful organization that will be here generations from now. This vision is a culmination of the past few years of dialogue and discussion with our friends and neighbors, not duplicating existing resources and ensuring we make a meaningful impact. We have great appreciation to the GFWC Rhinelander Woman’s Club for their thoughtful and meaningful gift that will create change. We are excited to build this vision with them right beside us.”

The YMCA of the Northwoods has raised nearly $1.5 million toward a goal of $2 million. For more information, visit ymcaofthenorthwoods.org.
