Hodag Dome inflated, work continues

Star Journal Report
The long-anticipated inflation of the dome – the centerpiece of a sports complex located between Rhinelander High School and James Williams Middle School – took place over the weekend. When complete, the 240-foot by 500-foot structure will accommodate soccer, football, softball and will feature a running track; and fundraising by Hodag Schools Foundation provided for the purchase of four sport courts for tennis, pickleball, basketball and volleyball, as well as a golf simulator. Outside, two new softball fields were build in previously unused school district land adjacent to the dome, and 180 parking stalls were added.
Discussion of the complex began in late 2018 when Dr. Lee Swank donated $500,000 to the Hodag Schools Foundation (HSF) as seed money for the construction of an indoor practice facility.
