The Oneida County Health Department (OCHD) has once again requested assistance from the Wisconsin National Guard for additional COVID-19 nasal swab testing.

Testing will take place 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday, Aug, 8, at a new location, the state DOT building, 510 Hanson Lake Road.

Anyone age five and older, and who lives or works in Wisconsin can get tested. Anyone tested who has symptoms will be expected to self-isolate until the test results return.

The National Guard will be using a new electronic registration system to speed up the process. People are encouraged to register ahead of time at this website and come prepared with their registration information. People will also be able to register at the event but it will take more time.

“We are excited to try some different processes for this testing event,” says Linda Conlon, Oneida County health officer. “We had some hiccups at our last event in July due to weather and an increase in demand for testing that we are hoping the changes for this event will be able to alleviate.”

Testing is free of charge, and if testing kits run out, those not tested may be turned away. Everyone attending should wear a mask or cloth face covering and prepare for potential wait time. Those in line should stay in or on their mode of transportation at all times.
