Fourth of July holiday weekend events in the Northwoods

Like much of 2020, this July Fourth will look different than it has in the past. It will be celebrated differently, as many traditional Independence Day events are canceled. Many communities are hosting events throughout the weekend. Be sure to confirm events before heading out. Happy Fourth of July!

RHINELANDER
Saturday, July 4
Fireworks at dusk, approximately 9:30 p.m., Hodag Park. Recommended: Social distancing of six feet or more between individuals or groups; stay home if sick, wash hands and wear cloth face coverings. City playgrounds and BMX track are open with best practices prescribed by Onward Oneida County guidance.

THREE LAKES
Friday, July 3
8:45-9:45 p.m., Big Fork Lake Venetian Boat Parade
Saturday, July 4
10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Three Lakes Lions Club food stand on the corner of the Oneida Village parking lot.
Dusk, fireworks at Don Burnside Park. Please practice social distancing, stay in your vehicle or with family. No concessions, no restrooms will be open

MINOCQUA
Saturday, July 4
3-5 p.m., Vintage military plane flyover Minocqua and chain of lakes, Woodruff and Arbor Vitae
7 p.m., Min-Aqua Bats Show on Lake Minocqua
Dusk, Fireworks over Lake Minocqua, Torpy Park

BOULDER JUNCTION
Friday, July 3
7-9 p.m., Music on Main Street featuring the Voice of Elvis, Clyde Masten. Held outdoors at the Boulder Junction Community Center on Hwy M.
Saturday, July 4
7 p.m., Plum Ski-Ters Water Ski Show. Free to attend; located off Razorback Road at the State House Point boat landing on Plum Lake in Sayner. Donations appreciated.
10 p.m., Fireworks at the Boulder Junction airport, Can be viewed from the airport (gates open at 8 p.m.) or by boat. Cars will be generously spaced to allow for social distancing, restrooms will not be open, no play area up front for children; please stay by vehicle.

ST. GERMAIN
Sunday, July 5
11 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday Funday. Make your weekend last a little longer! Featuring music by Flying Blind 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and Tony Ocean 2-5 p.m. Food and games for the whole family.

MERCER
Saturday, July 4
8 a.m., Run for a Vet at MECCA
11 a.m., Parade through downtown Mercer
3 p.m.-Dusk, Food, beverages and fun at Carow Park followed by fireworks.

MANITOWISH WATERS
Saturday, July 4
3-6 p.m., Music in the Park at the Community Center. Featuring the Michael Saint Band. Please practice social distancing, bring your own food and beverages, do not approach the band or sound engineer.
7 p.m., Skiing Skeeters Water Ski Show at the Rest Lake Park. Bring a blanket or lawn chair for viewing. Free to attend; donations appreciated.
Dusk, fireworks over Rest Lake.

PHELPS
Saturday, July 4
7 -11 p.m., first annual boat parade. Community members, organizations and visitors are invited to decorate their boat and join. Parade begins at Millerville Lane Boat Landing. Stay on the lake and enjoy the fireworks at dusk. Parade registration through the chamber of commerce.
Fireworks will be over North Twin Lake.

LAND O’LAKES
July 3 Celebration
5:30p.m.-midnight, Gateway Lodge. Food and music in the courtyard off of the restaurant.Serving fish fry, burgers and hot dogs.
8 p.m.-midnight, music by The Influence. Please bring your own lawn chair.
