Northwoods United Way Executive Director Nancy Sattler has announced the nonprofit is creating a COVID-19 Community Response Fund.

“The emergence and rapid spread of this virus has caused a level of disruption in our lives that none of us could have imagined just a short while ago,” Sattler stated in a press release.

A fund has been established to assist with unexpected needs that have arisen in Northwoods communities.

The Northwoods United Way, its board of directors and other community leaders will have input on what the unmet or additional needs are, as it relates to COVID-19.

“Our goal is to ensure funds get into the hands of agencies that serve those needs in an expedience manner,” stated Sattler.

Donations can be mailed to Northwoods United Way, PO Box 177, Rhinelander, WI 54501. Checks should be made out to Northwoods United Way, with COVID-19 noted in memo.

Checks may also be brought to Nicolet National bank branches in Rhinelander, Eagle River or Minocqua. Credit card donations can made through northwoodsunitedway.org, by clicking on “donate now,” and indicating the funds are for COVID19.

For more information, contact Sattler at 715-202-3344 or nwuway@newnorth.net.
