Perdue

A Newbold man faces up to 15 years in prison if found guilty of possession of child pornography. Paul M. Perdue, 69, was arrested at his home Nov. 18.

According to the criminal complaint, two Oneida County Sheriff’s detectives, a state Department of Criminal Investigation agent and an analyst questioned Perdue outside his home before Perdue eventually allowed them access to his computer, a tablet, a camera and a cell phone.

Perdue reportedly told investigators he was “addicted” to looking at pornographic images of girls aged 14-15 years old and also admitted he knew it was wrong. Several images were reportedly downloaded from his computer and he was arrested.

In addition to a maximum 15 years in prison, a Class D felony carries 10 years of extended supervision and/or a $100,000 fine.

Perdue is free on a $5,000 cash bond. His next court appears is an adjourned initial appearance Dec. 9.
