Week three of Forward Rhinelander’s Top 10 list

BY EILEEN PERSIKE
Editor

The local Rhinelander advocacy group, Forward Rhinelander recently named a list of the top 10 community members under the age of 40. As a way to get to know these individuals, the Star Journal is featuring one each week. This week, however, is a two-for-one.

Josh and Jen Clark were nominated as a team; the pair is an investment partner/owner of six Culver’s restaurants in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Florida and Ohio. They are both involved in volunteer work, and are parents to two boys.

•How would you encourage other young people to get involved in their communities?
For us, we enjoy working with local groups that have the same interests or passions we do. So we would say find the things that interest you the most and it makes it easy to give back time and/or money.

•How would you encourage other young people to get involved in their communities?
We both have been surrounded by great people and mentors that have helped mold us personally, as well as professionally. There are a few Culver’s owners that we reached out to in the beginning that have really helped us understand the franchise and business. Our parents have had a large impact on us personally to have an interest in giving back. Pat Connors, Jen’s father would probably be the most influential person for us, in regard to owning and operating a business.

•To date, what are you most proud of accomplishing?
Both of us are really proud to be a part of a great, thriving community and are probably more proud of watching our friends and guests to the restaurant grow professionally and personally.

•What is your favorite thing about Rhinelander?
We love everything about Rhinelander. The people, the activities, the “vacation feel,” and our schools allow our children to thrive as well.

•If you could change one thing about Rhinelander, what would that be?
I think changing the perception some people have of the Northwoods area. If you step back and look at the direction Rhinelander is heading, we feel like it’s really moving in the right direction.
