GIRLS BASKETBALL: Hodags win GNC opener at Mosinee, 76-66

The Rhinelander High School varsity girls basketball team jumped out to a 10-point halftime lead Friday when the Hodags won their Great Northern Conference opener at Mosinee, 76-66.

RHS had three players score in double figures with Kenedy Van Zile and Ally Seefeldt tallying 24 points apiece and Brooke Mork adding 12 points.

The Hodags and Indians both shot around 40 percent from the field overall by going 20-59 and 25-61, respectively. However, free-throw shooting turned out to be the difference in the game with RHS going 31-43 (72 percent) and Mosinee making 14-34 (41 percent).

The win improved the Hodags’ season record to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the GNC going into Tuesday’s game at Ashland.
