A letter to Hodag fans, from the Athletic Director

Dear Hodag Fans,
With the winter sports season quickly coming to a close, I would like to recognize the success of the teams and fans. I will forever be grateful for how the athletes have represented Rhinelander athletics on and off the court this year. Our teams continue to battle through adversity to be victorious and this is a tribute to our senior leaders and all the coaches.
Recently, the WIAA has been under scrutiny for its sportsmanship expectations. I have seen some decline in our student cheering section and we are losing our atmosphere – we need that back! I want to commend our students, parents, and community members for their behavior at our contests since I have been the Athletic Director. Rhinelander is a tough place for a visiting team to play and you, as fans, have helped us protect “OUR HOUSE.” Our fans should be applauded for their efforts.
With WIAA tournaments right around the corner, I encourage you to continue to make this a tough place to play. As we cheer proud and loud for our Hodags, let’s continue to do things “OUR WAY,” this includes treating our student athletes with respect, along with the visiting teams, officials, and game workers.
Again, I want to recognize and thank everyone for supporting Hodag Athletics.
Brian Paulson
Director of Athletics and Activities
