The Rhinelander District Library’s summer session of Baby Storytime is in progress. This storytime is conducted on Monday’s at 10:15 a.m. Designed for young ones ages 6 months to 2 years of age, this 20 – minute program consists of simple stories, fingerplays, and music. A social/play time follows each program.
Two programs for preschoolers are scheduled for Thursday, July 23. A 20-minute Parent/Tot Time program for children age 2 to 3 ½ accompanied by an adult 10 a.m. in the Children’s Department.
A 40-minute Story Time program for children age 3 ½ to 6 is at 10 a.m. in the library meeting room. At the completion of the programs, caregivers and children from both groups will gather together to do a simple craft.
“Big Vehicle” program on Tuesday, July 21 from 10 – 11:30 a.m. Children are invited to the library parking lot to inspect a variety of vehicles. Due to this program the library parking lot will not be available for regular patron parking until 1 p.m. this day.
Randy Korb the Frog Guy will be presenting unique and highly engaging live amphibian programs at the Library on Wednesday, July 22. The morning program will be from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. and the afternoon show will be from 1 – 1:45 p.m. A free ticket is needed to attend this program and can be obtained at the Children’s Department or phoning 715-365-1070, ext. 2.
27th annual Great Library Worm Race is Tuesday, July 28, 1-2:30 p.m. outside the Rhinelander District Library. Register by stopping in the library by calling 365-1070, extension 2. There is a limit of 60 teams.This program is sponsored by the Northwood’s Lion’s Club.

Play and Learn: Tuesdays 9:30 – 11 a.m. Children learn valuable developmental and social interaction skills; parents engage in these activities with their children. The program follows the Wisconsin Early Learning Standards and is designed to teach and be fun! No charge; designed for birth to 5 years old, but all ages are welcome. Held at Head Start, 1872 N. Stevents St., Rhinelander.
Summer Music Garden: Thursdays 10 -11 a.m. Music and movement program created to stimulate your child’s development. Activities designed to awaken your child’s imagination, promote language and cognitive development, coordination skills and social interaction. No charge. Held at Minocqua Library Community Room, 415 Menominee Street.

Pioneer Park Historical Complex: Open daily except Monday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nine museums onsite including the Rhinelander School Museum, the Logging Musium, Soo Line Depot, a model railroad display, outdoor display including the Thunder Lake’s No. 5 narrow gauge locomotive, Red’s Sawmill, antique boat and motor museum, Civilian Conservation Corps museum and a fire barn that includes antique fire trucks. 715-369-5004 for more information.
