Obituary: Charlotte “Lottie” Nelson

Charlotte “Lottie” Nelson, 100 years of age, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Golden Living – Golden Age Nursing Home in Tomahawk.

Charlotte was born on October 13, 1914 in Kellnersville, the seventh of eight children, to Wencel & Anna (Malezeva) Zeman. She married John Nelson on June 30, 1934 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville; he passed away in 1985. Together, they had five children. Lottie and John raised their children in Sheboygan, and in 1974, moved to Tomahawk to spend their retirement. Charlotte was a member of the American War Mothers, St. Lawrence Seminary Guild & Catholic Daughters of America in Sheboygan. Locally, Charlotte was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Lottie loved flowers, gardening and playing bingo. Lottie would’ve been 101 years old in October.

Charlotte is survived by daughters Mary (Alan) Drengler of Tomahawk and Madeleine Hollman of Fitchburg; son, John (Lucy) Nelson of Pelican Lake; nine grandchildren, Michael (Kim) Hollman, Tessie (Kurt) Radecke, Steve (Carrie) Hollman, Joe (Lisa) Hollman, Katie Melmer, Julie (Marc) Sherry, Rosalie (Richard) Stuplich, Rev. Mark (Elizabeth) Drengler & John (Jackie) Nelson.

She is further survived by 22 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lottie is preceded in death by her husband, John; two daughters, Rosalie and Carol Nelson; three brothers and four sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial for Charlotte Nelson will take place at 11 a.m.on Thursday, July 23 at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Tomahawk. Fr. Louis Maram Reddy will officiate. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery immediately following Mass.

Family would like to thank the staff at Golden Living – Golden Age for all of their loving care over the years.
