Community blood drive planned in Rhinelander

A community blood drive has been planned in Rhinelander for Friday, Jan. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The blood drive will be held at Northwoods National Bank, at 1255 Lincoln Street in Rhinelander.

“January is National Blood Donor Month- a perfect time to become a blood donor. If you haven’t given blood before give it a try on Friday! Many new donors say they don’t know why they waited so long, but it’s never too late to start helping out by giving blood,” Jan Hadsell of the blood center, said.
Advance donation appointments are highly recommended, and may be made by calling Jill at 715-362-7878, or visiting www.save3lives.org. Walk-in donors are welcome, but scheduling an appointment helps ensure a fast and convenient process.

Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental permission), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, and bring a photo ID. Donors are encouraged to eat a regular meal and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating.
